Biography

Cumbia-Reggae and Méstizo Sound System from Langenthal/Bern

Finest Collection of latinamerican and spanish Sounds, mixed in a danceable warm and groovy selection.

Since 2002, Radio Rebelde Sound Sistema has been getting people to dance with its selection of fine Mestizo, Cumbia, Latin-Reggae, and Bass music. Starting as a concert organizer with bands like Irie Révoltés, Un Kuartito, Obrint Pas, Go Lem System, La kinky Beat, or Raggabund, it launched its own reggae band, Kulturattentat, and played concerts throughout German-speaking Switzerland. Their album “Tagtroum” was recorded by the band at La Panchito Studio in Barcelona with the percussionist of Manu Chao. The band no longer exists, but the love for music remains. With a large collection of music from Spain, Catalonia, the Basque Country, and, of course, Central and South America, Radio Rebelde Sound Sistema takes you on a journey through the jungle, over the mountains, into the pampas, and directly to the social centers of the metropolises. With revolutionary content, warm bass lines, and soundscapes from various languages of the world.

“You can tell that the DJ has probably invested at least twelve times the playtime in work here. Every song is finely selected, every transition lovingly thought out, adorned with jingles, and enriched with dubplates.”
