Xiberoots Reggae mixed with traditional Basque sounds

XIBEROOTS is a multiverse in which the traditional Basque country and its language form the matrix. The band’s music was born from the band members’ desire to spread their native language through reggae. The band’s music quickly evolved and was enriched by the personality and experience of each member.
The reggae blended with traditional Basque sounds carried by an electro/hip-hop beat, a funky/trance bass and 70s prog ambiances, all with a desire for coherence and musical balance.
The band’s atypical trajectory, i.e. playing gigs for three years before releasing their first album, goes back to the adage “Better to play without practising than practise without playing”! It is the love of the stage that drives the six members of the band. The powerful live sound radiates a punky energy
Xiberoots consistently sing in the Basque language, simply because it is the members’ mother tongue and it is still an unrecognised language in France today.
